Adobe Ships Substance 3D Sampler 4.1

The update brings a new Paint Warp filter, an improved version of the Embroidery filter, and multiple enhancements to 3D Capture.

Adobe has officially released Substance 3D Sampler 4.1, an update to its picture-to-3D material software, previously known as Substance Alchemist. Focusing on enriching the application's content, the release brings a brand-new Paint Warp filter, an improved version of the Embroidery filter, and multiple enhancements to 3D Capture, a neat photogrammetry feature introduced with the recent 4.0 update.

The newly-added Paint Warp filter allows you to warp materials by drawing curves on the 2D view, with its Straighten option enabling you to realign materials for an easy seamless tiling workflow.

Sampler's novel Embroidery generator lets you create embroidery patches from a single image, vector file, or a drawing. According to the developer, the generator can embroider up to six colors and is capable of combining several stitching technics.

And here's a list of enhancements added to the 3D Capture feature:

  • Back button is now available on the alignment step
  • Images Handle JPEG EXIF orientation
  • Scripting - New dataset_info.camera property
  • Add Linux support
  • Verify read access of the imported images
