Advanced Hair & Fur Shader For Unreal Engine 5 Released
Watch the latest in-depth tutorial and get AVASCOT's Groom Shader now.
If you missed this, last month we shared a demo of AVASCOT's cool groom shader for Unreal Engine 5, which is now officially released and available for purchase. The developers have also published a tutorial covering everything you need to know to use it to its full potential.
The shader is built to give you flexible control over how hair and fur look. It allows for natural variation and is ready for production use, whether you're working on real-time characters, cinematics, or other projects.
Among key features are support for up to five distinct groom areas, a blend area system that works with standard blending modes or a probability-based distribution, and advanced control over fur variation, including per-hair selection and subtle differences between individual fibers. The shader also offers detailed root and tip controls with adjustable transition contrast and color length variation, as well as an additional color mask section for localized color adjustments.
