Affinity Returns As Free All-In-One Design Suite
Affinity by Canva is now free to use, forever.
After weeks of anticipation, the mystery is finally over: Canva has relaunched Affinity as an all-in-one design platform that merges the features of Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, and Affinity Publisher into a single, unified app. Even better, Canva says it will be completely free, forever.
However, AI features, including Generative Fill, Expand & Edit, and Remove Background, are available exclusively to Canva Premium subscribers. "We know that transparency around AI use and data handling is essential, and your creative work will always remain yours. Canva AI features are built with privacy and control in mind, ensuring that your creative work in Affinity stays secure and is not used to train AI features", the official announcement states.
The redesigned Affinity app combines vector, photo, and layout tools in one space and introduces a "new level of personalization with fully customizable studios". Users are said to be able to mix and match tools from Vector, Pixel, and Layout to build a workspace that fits their unique process.
The original standalone Affinity applications will no longer receive updates, though their activation servers will remain online. The new Affinity is available today for Mac and Windows, with iPad coming soon. More details can be found in the official announcement and FAQ here.
