Many players remember AION fondly, and the new era is coming, now to the Western world, too. AION 2 is launching globally on October 5, and you can see what's going on in its new flashy trailer, revealed at gamescom.
More epic than ever, the game's highlight was and is flying, now in a world 36 times larger than the original.
"Every region, every battlefield, every encounter was designed with verticality as its axis. As a Daeva, flight is not a travel mechanic, it is how you fight, how you explore, and how you impose your will on the world. Gain altitude to gain advantage, and experience a scale of aerial combat unlike any other MMORPG."

However, today's MMO scene is not what it used to be. Will NC be able to capture the attention of both nostalgic fans and new audiences? We'll see.
For now, NC invites players to a Launch Scale Test (LST) running from September 17 through September 18.
During this period, no purchases, marketplace, Founder's Pack items, or closet will be available. The maximum level will be limited to 37.
After the test, Steam players must uninstall the Playtest App and download AION 2 separately for Advanced Access on September 30.
