Alpha Quad: A New Retopology Add-On for Blender

A 3D Artist and Add-on Maker known as Kushiro has unveiled a new tool that will make the lives of Blender Artists just a little bit easier. Meet Alpha Quad, a new retopology tool for selected faces. You can use it to quick remesh a single N-Gon face, or use it to remesh a part of your mesh. If you want, you can even select all faces and use the add-on.

According to the add-on's creator, the idea was to make a quad tool that "respects the border direction of an N-Gon". It is able to create quads that are smoothly following the shape of the original face. Alpha Quad is fully coded in Python making the retopology process for complex mesh slow, compared to other retopology tools on the market. "However, the goal of this tool is retopology for Selected Dace", so it will not be a problem," assures Kushiro.
