Have a look at this fantastic effect, inspired by a World of Warcraft cinematic.
A Korean VFX Artist known as FX102 has showcased an epic sky-shattering effect, made in Unreal Engine 4. According to the artist, the goal was to create a visual effect similar to the one seen in the World of Warcraft: Shadowlands cinematic trailer. This effect is only the first part of a bigger project, aimed at reproducing the World of Warcraft's effect exactly the same. FX102 promises to release the second part in about 2 weeks, in which the artist plans to add clouds, lightning, and some more elements.
The production process behind the effect is covered in a course, released by a Korean school FX Academy. Unfortunately, there is no English version available at the moment, but the author comments that they are currently planning an English translation. When it is ready, it will be announced through YouTube.
