MocapForStreamer allows capturing upper body, hands, and facial expressions without expensive equipment.
If you'd like to be a VTuber or are just curious about motion capture but can't afford expensive equipment like Xsens, MocapForStreamer is here for you. Developed by Akiya Research Institute, it requires 2 webcams and a mid-range PC to capture the upper body, hands, and facial expressions.
Your two webcams need to be of the same model to create something like a stereo camera, and that's about all you need aside from a Windows 10 OS. Just place your cams side by side, about 20-30 cm apart, calibrate them, and you're ready to go.
Akiya Research Institute has also developed MocapForAll – a similar tool for full-body capturing. It can use more cameras without model restrictions.
MocapForStreamer will be released on July 8. The developers recommend trying the demo before buying the full version.
