An Upcoming Arcade-Style Action Game With Insane Air-Slicing Combos

Samurai Blitz EX is expected to be released later this year.

If you're a big fan of arcade action games, we have a recommendation for you. Samurai Blitz EX is a fast-paced, combat slasher created by Case Portman, an indie developer from the UK, using GameMaker.

"Carve through relentless waves of ferocious demons, chaining together insane air-slicing combos as you dash, slash and rack up sky-high scores," the game description reads. Carefully control the samurai to dodge the bullets while getting rid of hordes of enemies or powerful bosses using your sharpened katana and gathering coins.

You'll face eight stages, each presenting unique challenges and increasing difficulties. For every new run, the experience will be different thanks to the roguelike feature. There will also be hand-crafted mastery challenges designed to test your wit and skill. While creating insane combos in the combats, you may also get some assistance from the companions, which could be a panda, a fox, a wolf, a deer, or a raven.

The recently shared footage from the developer provided us with an opportunity to view some of the boss fights, featuring a soaring boar and a fierce dragon-head geisha spitting fireballs, the mysterious portal that transports you from one level to another, intense combat, and more:

Being "a fully rebuilt and reimagined evolution of Samurai Blitz," which was developed and released by Studio Thunderhorse on mobile in 2015, Samurai Blitz EX is set to come in 2025. If you're interested in learning more about it, don't hesitate to visit its Steam page and add the game to your wishlist there.
