An Upcoming Pixelated Space Mining Game Featuring 2D Physics And A Destructible Environment

Deep Space Exploitation is set to release in 2025.

JuhrJuhr is the solo developer behind Deep Space Exploitation, an upcoming pixelated space mining game featuring 2D physics and a destructible environment. Recently, they've shared a clip on Reddit to showcase the scanning for resources gameplay in the game, where players extract from one of the "denser" asteroids

As soon as the spectroscan shows a strong signal, install a bomb and activate it. Stay away from it as the explosion might cause knockback and damage to you if you're getting too close, and watch it explode to expose the resources. Get closer to them, pull them to your ship, and use the reaction to navigate away. The whole process is satisfying and requires precise control of your ship as it floats in the dark universe.

The game is set in 2943, a "distant future where mining ship pilots work for exploitative corporations, you will have to improve your equipment, upgrade your ship, and master the asteroids if you want to survive and secure your future," reads the game description.

You will need to choose the equipment wisely because everything has a price. In the other clip, the developer showcased a hammer that is one of the tools you can use.

Recently, to make the game more dynamic, the developer introduced self-explosion for resources when they are not picked up in a timely manner:

Deep Space Exploitation is available for wishlist on Steam and if you want to experience it, an alpha build is available for download on Itch.io. With the developer aiming to release it in 2025, you might be able to play a full version later this year.
