Netflix has shared a new teaser trailer offering an official first look at Spaceman, an upcoming sci-fi drama based on Jaroslav Kalfař's 2017 novel Spaceman of Bohemia, starring Adam Sandler, the legendary actor known primarily for his comedic roles, as its protagonist Jakub Procházka – an astronaut sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect mysterious ancient dust, who upon returning to Earth finds his life falling apart.
"An astronaut realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth," reads the upcoming movie's synopsis. "Desperate to fix things with his wife, he is helped by a mysterious ancient creature he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship."
Besides Sandler, the film features Paul Dano, known for his roles in 12 Years a Slave, Love & Mercy, and Escape at Dannemora, Carey Mulligan, acclaimed for her performances in Pride & Prejudice, The Great Gatsby, and Drive, and Kunal Nayyar, famous for portraying Raj Koothrappali in The Big Bang Theory. Spaceman is directed by Johan Renck, an Emmy-winning director of music videos, TV, and film widely known for his work on HBO's mini-series Chernobyl.
