Disney's Jordan Barg has shared a look at some self-made animation references, which helped "to save hours if not days of work".
Animator at Walt Disney Animation Jordan Barg has recently shared a short video, showcasing some amazing self-made animation references created for "this is where the traffic is" scene from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, a recently-released animated superhero film and a sequel to the 2018 Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
According to the creator, the workflow comprised filming multiple different versions and gestures, picking the funniest recordings, and then quickly animating them in Maya, saving " hours if not days of work". By creating custom references, Barg was able to explore 20 different iterations within minutes, a process that would have otherwise taken an entire week to achieve with a traditional animation approach.
