Appease Bossy Cats & Industrious Mice in This Rimworld-Inspired Sim

A new project published by Manor Lords' publisher.

Everyone knows about the age-old rivalry between cats and mice. But have you ever wondered what it would be like if these two adversaries were in a complex city-building game? Making it worse, you find yourself as a third party caught between these rivals, having to keep both sides happy.

That's what happens in Whiskerwood, an upcoming city-builder game from the developers of Railgrade. It draws you into an intricate world where you have to deal with a tricky situation.

“Establish a home for your industrious mice under the oppressive paw of your cat overlords in this city builder featuring complex simulations, intricate production chains, and the age-old rivalry between cat and mouse.”

Whiskerwood

The cities of Whiskerwood are built on islands, so space is quite limited. That's why you need to build upwards, dig underground, and explore verticality to expand your domain. The game pushes you to voyage to pirate-infested waters to explore beyond your island and be rewarded with great rewards if you are brave enough.

Intricate automations and production chains are what these industrious mice will be working with. The mice can harness the power of automation, creating intricate conveyor belt systems to transport goods to make the habitat "evolve from a humble mouse-powered colony to a steam-powered mousetropolis." The game features 40 different commodities to gather, produce, or trade to ensure the well-being of the colony.

Published by Hooded Horse, known for games like Against the Storm, Manor Lords, and more, Whiskerwood is expected to be released soon. You can already wishlist the game on Steam if you find it interesting.
