Apple Presented New "World's Thinnest" 15-Inch MacBook Air

The company calls it the best laptop in its category.

During its Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple announced a new 15.3-inch MacBook Air laptop.

Just 11.5mm thick, it is the world's thinnest 15-inch laptop, according to the company. Equipped with Apple's M2 chip, the new MacBook Air is also fairly light, weighing 3.3 pounds.

It boasts two USB-C Thunderbolt ports, a MagSafe charging connector, and a 3.5 headphone jack. It has 500 nits of brightness and supports one billion colors. There are also a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, six speakers providing spatial audio, and a battery that can last up to 18 hours.

The laptop will come in midnight, starlight, space gray, and silver colors.

Apple claims its new M2-powered MacBook is 12 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Air and twice more performative than the best-selling 15-inch PC laptop with a Core i7 processor.

It features an 8-core CPU with four performance cores and four efficiency cores, a 10-core GPU, and a 16-core Neural Engine. M2 delivers 100GB/s of memory bandwidth and supports up to 24GB of fast unified memory.

The new device will cost $1,299 and reach the audience starting June 13.
