The administration has officially greenlit the company's four-seater eVTOL vehicle.
ASKA, a Silicon Valley-based company dedicated to facilitating faster, safer, and more environmentally friendly transportation, has obtained approval from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for its ASKA A5, a prototype of a flying car.
First introduced back in 2021, the car is described as the first viable electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) vehicle that combined the ability to function as a car on the road and vertically ascend to navigate the skies like an aircraft.
ASKA introduced the fully operational, life-sized ASKA A5 prototype earlier in 2023, and subsequently acquired a Certificate of Authorization (COA) and Special Airworthiness Certification from the FAA. Extensive testing of the vehicle has been ongoing since then. Comparable in size to a large SUV, this four-seater flying car offers an impressive flight range of 400 kilometers (250 miles) and a maximum speed of 241 km/h (150 mph).
