Assassin's Creed Mirage ESRB Rating Reveals Major Plot Twist

Spoilers ahead.

There are usually people screaming "Spoilers!" many years after the show or game was released. But in the case of Assassin's Creed Mirage, spoilers come months before the launch and from an unexpected source.

The ESRB rating for the game revealed a very interesting detail about the gameplay. According to the rating summary, players will "use swords, arrows, daggers, and a concealed blade" to kill not only bosses and soldiers but also "fellow assassins".

This is a fascinating detail about Basim Ibn Ishaq, the protagonist of Mirage and the supporting character in Valhalla. But however exciting it is, this particular twist appeared way too early, destroying what could possibly be a surprise for half of the game.

The news spread quickly, and ESRB apparently received the message and soon changed the description:

"Players use swords, daggers, arrows, and a concealed blade to kill soldiers, guards, and boss characters in frenetic melee-style combat."

Unfortunately, it was already too late, and now we have to live with this knowledge until the game comes out on October 12.

On the other hand, Assassins killing the members of their own Order is not that hard to believe. Assassin's Creed has been flirting with the idea of the opposing factions not having black-and-white views for a long time now, so it had to come to fruition in one of the games eventually.

We will see how Ubisoft handles this particular plot twist soon enough. Meanwhile, don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on ThreadsInstagramTwitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
