Inspired by a scene from Genndy Tartakovsky's 2003 Star Wars: Clone Wars series, jokingly captioned "average Helldivers 2 gameplay" by Demily Pyro, BNBaku took on the challenge of actually reimagining the sequence with Helldivers 2 soldiers, showcasing his NPR skills.
He also released a brief breakdown video that explores the creative process, covering the models, shaders, and finalizing the scene, all within Blender. Every model here, from soldiers to weapons and automatons, was created by BNBaku with Goo Engine, a custom Blender build developed by DillonGoo Studios specifically for stylized and anime-inspired 3D art.
But many moments in Helldivers 2 naturally lend themselves to the bold, dynamic style of the 2003 Clone Wars series, so BNBaku decided to create another sequence, which was completed in three weeks using Blender with Goo Engine and visual effects added later in DaVinci Resolve:
