Sylvan Kim paid tribute to the metroidvania using 3ds Max and Guillaume Tiberghien's model.
Two of the best games of 2025 have finally received a "crossover" of sorts, with Sylvan Kim, the 3D animator behind many of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33's characters and creatures, paying tribute to Team Cherry's Hollow Knight: Silksong with his latest high-octane 3D sequence.
Inspired by the game itself, Guillaume Tiberghien's Hornet model – which was ultimately used for Sylvan's project – and the idea of capturing Silksong's experience in 3D, the animation shows the game's protagonist performing a series of attacks and acrobatic moves based on her actual in-game skills. As for the software, Sylvan used his tried-and-true go-to animation tool Autodesk 3ds Max, which he previously employed for setting up animations in Clair Obscur.
