Baldur's Gate 3 Beats Its Own Record of Concurrent Players on Steam

The game needed 4000 more players to beat Hogwarts Legacy.

A week ago, we reported that Baldur's Gate 3 hit an impressive milestone of 800,000+ concurrent players on Steam during the weekend, while Larian Studios only expected the peak online of "100K or so at max".

Head of Larian Studios Swen Vincke, in response to Baldur's Gate 3 hitting the 500K milestone, joked it would be in his best interest to avoid the studio's IT department since he told them to expect around 100,000 concurrent Steam users at best.

7 days later, Baldur's Gate 3 broke its own record and set another standard for concurrent players on Steam. At the time of publication, the game reached 875,343 concurrent players. The previous record, set on August 6, was 814,666 users.

Larian's title improved its results on the second weekend after its release. The thing is that usually, games set records only in the first few days.

Baldur's Gate 3 currently has the ninth spot in the ranking of games with the highest concurrent player count in Steam's history. Sadly, the game needed just 4,000 players to surpass the peak concurrent player count of Hogwarts Legacy, which is currently 879,300 users.
