Jaime Diaz can generate water, forests, and sand easily.
The right shaders can turn a simple plane into a stunning environment if the artist is talented enough. Jaime Diaz certainly is, and you can clearly see it in his complex parametric shaders, which shape spreads of gray planes into fantastic scenes: there is water, beach, forests, and cliffs generated on top using 3ds Max.
The artist says that the project consists of a blend shader with many slope/height/noise masks, while the vegetation is from a forest pack.
"It's just a shader and a bunch of scattered proxies, should be possible to do in any software," he is sure.
