Behaviour Interactive Acquires 7 Days to Die Developer The Fun Pimps
The studios known for horror titles plan to accelerate further development of 7 Days to Die.
Behaviour Interactive, the largest Canadian video game studio, has announced its acquisition of The Fun Pimps, the developer of survival horror 7 Days to Die.
The partnership is aimed at supporting further development of the title, without changing its creative leadership. The Fun Pimps will remain at the helm of the development process, while Behaviour Interactive will provide additional support, production capacity, and expertise, helping speed up progress on the current roadmap.
The Fun Pimps
"We're truly excited to welcome The Fun Pimps," said Rémi Racine, Behaviour's CEO and Co-Founder. "Over more than a decade, 7 Days to Die has established itself as a beloved franchise, inspiring more than 20 million players."
Rémi Racine also noted that the project complements Behaviour's titles and fits into the studio's lineup of games:
"It fits naturally within Behaviour's goal of assembling a diverse, high-quality horror portfolio. It's also an ideal complement to Dead by Daylight – both games have steadily grown alongside their communities. We look forward to celebrating the game's community by supporting The Fun Pimps' creative vision."
Richard Huenink, The Fun Pimps' Co-Founder, also shared positive emotions about the partnership: "This is a huge moment for our game and our business." He said that Behaviour Interactive shares a similar vision of what should be done in the future:
"When we started this company thirteen years ago, we never imagined 7 Days to Die would become what it is today. That growth has come from our community, who have driven our game forward from the beginning. To keep giving them what they deserve, we knew we needed a partner who shared our ambitious vision for the future. Behaviour turned out to be exactly that."
The Fun Pimps' 7 Days to Die, an open-world zombie game that combines survival horror, first-person shooter, RPG, and tower-defense gameplay, was released in 2024 and was warmly welcomed by the audience. The game received "Very Positive" ratings on Steam, with 85% of reviews being positive, and sold over 20 million copies.
Behaviour Interactive's library includes many titles within the horror genre, for example, Dead by Daylight, It Has My Face, and the upcoming Blight Survival, along with projects of other genres such as Flippin Misfits, Islands of Insight, and more.
