The game's creator 2K launched a campaign asking fans to share their art and memories of the game.
It's hard to find someone who hasn't heard of BioShock – a series of retrofuturistic first-person shooters created by 2K. The first title of the franchise was released in 2007 and celebrated its 15th anniversary on August 21.
BioShock 1 and 2, which are set in 1960, took the player to the dystopian underwater city of Rapture, where scientists learned how to give people psychokinetic powers. Later, BioShock Infinite, released in 2013, moves the player to Columbia – a city suspended in the air, where mysterious Tears open rifts in time and space.
All games of the series were received well and are still highly valued by players for their combat and story, as well as the philosophical and moral concepts they explored.
To celebrate the first game's anniversary, 2K invited fans to share their memories of playing BioShock and art inspired by the franchise. The studio shared some of the artworks and cosplay photos on Twitter.
