Blender announced that version 5.0 is approaching release and has entered the release candidate stage. The RC stage will proceed until November 18, 2025, until the final release.
Before, we've covered some of Blender 5.0's features, such as the integration of the ACES 2.0 color management system, along with major improvements to the Compositor, which you can see in action through Ilyasse L's experiments.
Thomas Marcos, the creator behind the free procedural clouds shader, shared a quick overview of the software's new features, among which are support for ACES 1.3 and 2.0, improvements to Cycles, expansion of Geometry Nodes' functions, changes in the UI, and other new options.
