The hardworking Blender developers never slow down, and just a few months after the major Blender 5.0 release, Blender 5.1 has now officially entered the beta stage.
According to the changelog, the update introduces a handful of new nodes, a new Grease Pencil workflow, enhancements to the animation system, and more. Blender 5.1 will remain in beta until March 11, 2026, as outlined in the release schedule.
The Blender Foundation has previously released the first corrective update for Blender 5.0, fixing 132 issues, worth checking out if you missed it. A new roadmap has also been shared, outlining targets for this year's Blender releases, including storytelling, asset creation, collaboration, and other planned areas of development.
As usual, users are encouraged to download the 5.1 beta, test it thoroughly, and report any issues they encounter to help ensure a stable release next month.
