Close enough, welcome back Chris Jones.
A Reddit user known as OverweightP4nd4 showcased their "first custom-made blend shapes," demonstrating just how stunningly realistic a simple white 3D head can look. This project began with the goal of creating a realistic human face: the artist sculpted the face and then used a free base mesh from 3D Scan Store as a foundation, wrapping it around the sculpt to ensure proper topology and detail. After that, they sculpted and fine-tuned the facial expressions.
Sadly, the artist hasn't shared more about their process, and many users in the original Reddit thread jokingly speculate that they might be Chris Jones' reincarnation. While more information about the artist may surface in time, we recommend checking out some of Chris' recent works and our exclusive interview with him, discussing Chris' approach to hyperrealism, strong views on generative AI, and why he doesn't consider himself "secretive" despite what some may think.
