Blender-Made One-Click Solution For Clean Textured Edge Generation

Tim Johannsen presented his latest work.

In this project, Level Designer and Technical Artist Tim Johannsen developed a robust edge extrusion algorithm that ensures intersection-free geometry in all scenarios. The system also features a generator that automatically applies textures to edge decals using a custom-built atlas, effectively minimizing distortion. The result is a streamlined, one-click solution for generating clean, stylized edges.

Edge Decal Generator was created using Python, Blender, and Photoshop for texturing. Tim has also provided a technical overview of the project, here are some of the highlights:
