Blender's Founder & CEO Has Officially Stepped Down
The team behind the renowned program has celebrated Blender's 32nd birthday.
Blender, a popular free and open-source 3D software, has celebrated its 32nd anniversary by reaffirming the official announcement made at the Blender Conference keynote back in September 2025, stating that Ton Roosendaal, Blender's Founder and CEO, has officially stepped down as head of the Blender Foundation.

Having been preparing for the transition since 2019, Roosendaal has passed the torch to Francesco Siddi, former COO of the Blender Foundation and its new CEO. Joining him on the Blender Foundation's board are Head of Development Sergey Sharybin, Head of Product Dalai Felinto, and new COO Fiona Cohen, while Roosendaal himself will move to the company's newly established supervisory board.
"As the Blender project continues to grow, some evolution is natural, but our core values and commitment to the mission remain unchanged: putting the best 3D technology in the hands of artists as free and open source software," comments the new executive team. "We are excited to embark on this journey together, and we wish everyone in the Blender community a great 2026!"
