Blizzard's New Survival Game Is Reportedly Codenamed Odyssey

The game is said to look like Rare’s Everwild.

In the latest episode of The Xbox Two, Windows Central’s Jez Corden revealed that Blizzard is supposedly developing a new original survival game in a fantasy setting. According to Corden, the game has a fairy tale style and looks like Everwild, an upcoming adventure game from Rare.

Earlier this year, Blizzard was looking for creators to make a survival game for PC and console, seems like it got a codename: Odyssey has both survival and base-building mechanics. Players can sell what they craft, for example, you can make a potion shop and sell potions to other players.

Moreover, Jez shared that Odyssey has some kind of steampunk-like machines. The game is played from the first-person perspective, and the main character uses a bow and magic. Corden said the game is probably not MMO and had reminded him of ARK: Survival Evolved.

Jez saw the footage several months ago, so the final result might be different from what he experienced.
