Project Codenamed R will be published by Bloober Team's own publishing subsidiary, Broken Mirror Games.
Bloober Team, the Polish developer behind Silent Hill 2 remake, has decided to take over the publishing rights for Project Codenamed R from Skybound Entertainment and self-publish it via its own publishing division, Broken Mirror Games. This move will hopefully help maximize the studio’s profits from the project.
In a recently issued statement, they revealed an amendment had been signed for the agreement between the two parties, which has granted Bloober Team full publishing rights to the upcoming horror game.
"This is another step in the implementation of Bloober Team's long-term strategy for 2023-2027, the aim of which is to independently publish selected titles, maximize revenues and further strengthen the company's financial position." (Translated by DeepL)
Bloober Team
A year ago, Bloober Team unveiled Project R, which is scheduled to be released in 2025. It is a horror title based on one of the IPs of Skybound Entertainment, which is known for making The Walking Dead comic series. Not so much information about the game has been revealed during the past year, but Bloober Team hypes that it will be "a completely new type of game, different from those for which Bloober Team is known." Soon, we should be able to hear more regarding it, as it’s said the marketing activities of the title will start next year.
Besides this upcoming horror title, Bloober Team is also creating a survival horror game, "Project C," which was announced in 2021 and to be published by Take-Two Interactive's publishing label, Private Division; however, the latter canceled the deal in May this year. The Polish developer didn't unveil the status of the project.
Broken Mirror Games was a new subsidiary that was founded earlier this year, "whose task is to seek new creative challenges and develop projects created in cooperation with other teams."
