Boris FX Released Optics 2024

Optic 2024, an updated version of the VFX and image editing plug-in for Photoshop and Lightroom, is already available.

Boris FX is widely recognized as the industry-leading developer of visual effects software and plugins, specifically designed to cater to the needs of creative professionals working in film, video, and photography. Boris FX serves as a plugin for both Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom and also presents a standalone application.

Launched in 2020, Boris FX has been developing since, bringing updates with new features. This time they released Optics 2024, which comes with over 180 effects, masking tools, and lots of presets.

Here are the new features of Optics 2024:

  1. Particle Illusion, which adds masking, trails, gradient presets, 3D deflectors, force turbulence, and more;
  2. The ability to control the visibility of Particle Illusion's animated particles using an Optics mask;
  3. 8 Filters: Atmospheric Glow, Magic Sharp, Orbs, Prism, S_PrismLens, Smoke and Fog, Super LED, and S_UltraGrain
  4. Over 100 additional drag-and-drop presets based on popular filters such as beauty retouching, chromatic aberration, digital damage, glows, grunge, lens flares, light leaks, Particle Illusion, and others.

Speaking of pricing, a monthly subscription costs $9/month and an annual subscription is $99/year. A perpetual license is priced at $149, while an upgrade/support plan is available for $49/year. It is compatible with both Windows and macOS platforms.

Customers who have active Optics subscriptions or upgrade/support plans are eligible to receive the new 2024 release as a complimentary update.
