Breakdown: Fire Anomaly VFX Made With IlluGen & UE5

Nick Seavert showcased his latest experiment.

Recently, Nick Seavert, Founder & CEO of JangaFX, tested the asset generation workflow between the recently launched IlluGen and Unreal Engine 5 to demonstrate how IlluGen can be used for in-game visual effects.

He later published a detailed breakdown to offer insight into how others can use IlluGen in their own workflows. All assets here, except for the fire flipbooks, were created within IlluGen, including the ground texture and mesh. According to Nick, the effect itself took about two days to build in Unreal Engine, but generating the raw assets took less than an hour across the entire project.

Nick also shared the graphs on ArtStation, take a look for more info.
