Breakdown: Setting Up a Fake Liquid Shader in Unity

MinionsArt has shared a look at the updated version of the fake liquid shader and explained how you can recreate it.

Solo Game Developer Joyce, a.k.a. MinionsArt, known for creating mind-blowing projects in Unity, has recently shared a comprehensive breakdown explaining how to set up a great-looking fake liquid shader in Unity.

Based on the developer's earlier-made shader, the new effect uses a C# script that feeds movement data and world fill position data to the shader graph, and unlike the previous version, doesn't require a pivot in the center and works with timescale 0. In her breakdown, MinionsArt shared a look at the code and node graphs behind the shader, explained how to create the textures for the fake liquids, spoke about the lighting setup, and more. You can access the full breakdown for free by visiting the author's Patreon page.
