Build Dutch Cities with This Fun Townscaper-Like Indie Game

Polders is basically "Dutchscaper."

Tiny Glade definitely revitalized the city-building genre and probably introduced new audiences to this fun activity. If you enjoy creating towns with ease, check out Polders, an upcoming indie game in development by Jos Feenstra, where you erect Dutch architecture.

The creator jokingly calls it "Dutchscaper," and you can see Townscaper's influence for sure. Clicking on a land square raises a cozy little house, which can be merged with another to get a fancier building.

Speaking about Polders' development, Feenstra said, "It's a mixed bag of systems, there [are] some marching cubes in the grass terrain block, and [I'm] aiming to add WFC to the pavement as well. But yeah, the buildings are instantiated based upon placement requirements, with bigger buildings having [priority] over smaller ones."

If you want to see what Polders ends up to be, follow Feenstra on X/Twitter. Also, join our 80 Level Talent platform and our new Discord server, follow us on InstagramTwitterLinkedInTelegramTikTok, and Threads, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
