Bulkhead Wants to Draw More Players to Blue Team in Wardogs Season 2

"Lonestar needs you."

Bulkhead said it will address the imbalance and attract more players to Lonestar, also known as the blue team, in Wardogs Season 2.

In a recent devlog, the studio reviewed the biggest community issues and shared a first look at the new content in Season 2. "We're even looking at how we can help the win rate of a certain team," Executive Producer Joe Brammer said, speaking about specific measures the studio will take to fix the team selection imbalance.

The blue team has gained a reputation for being inexperienced and having more losses than wins, and players tend to choose red or green. Possible reasons, as PC Gamer notes, might be Lonestar's bland camouflage, unfavorable spawn points, and a reputation that acts as a "self-fulfilling prophecy." In a recent talk, Bulkhead confirmed that the blue team does fall into that unflattering win-loss ratio; its win rate has increased over time, though – from about 10% during the game's alpha to 20% in recent weeks.

Bulkhead's measures to address the issue include adjusting spawns for all three teams and rebuilding all teams' bases on Bakurani. Other changes include paying in-game cash and XP bonuses for playing and winning on the blue team, and modifying the saturation on its uniforms. "We're even putting posters like 'Lonestar needs you,' in the other teams' spawns. So yeah, it should be good fun," says Bulkhead co-founder Howard Philpott (via IGN).

Wardogs, a military FPS that launched in early access on September 10, surpassed 1 million copies sold on its first day, causing the servers to go down, following the game's closed beta, which attracted about 500,000 players in August. In less than a week after launch, Wardogs already reached a sales milestone of 2 million copies.

The game's season 2 will launch on October 15 with new content, including new weapons, vehicles, a weather preset, and more.
