Bungie has been awarded $6.7 million following a successful legal battle against well-known cheat maker LaviCheats.
Bungie, the developer of Destiny 2, has won yet another legal battle in its ongoing campaign against cheat makers, as the court has once again ruled in its favor.
The developer has won a legal dispute against LaviCheats, a well-known cheat maker for Destiny 2. Although this lawsuit was initiated back in August 2021, it has been ongoing for some time, with the court ultimately awarding Bungie a total of $6.7 million in damages and legal fees.
Furthermore, LaviCheats has been hit with a permanent injunction, compelling the Indian cheat creator to halt its operations. Notably, Kunal Bansal, the owner of LaviCheats, opted out of the arbitration process, resulting in a default judgment against him on the majority of the claims.
This legal victory comes shortly after it was reported that Bungie had won a case against VeteranCheats, which resulted in the latter owing $12 million in damages.
It's worth noting that several cheat developers targeted by Bungie offer their services for multiple games beyond Destiny, so these legal victories could potentially benefit other gaming companies as well.
