Bungie Wins $4.3 Million In Legal Battle Against Cheat Seller AimJunkies

And proceeded to sue LaviCheats.

Destiny 2 developer Bungie sued the AimJunkies cheat selling portal for copyright and trademark infringement in 2021, but the court judge didn't find enough evidence for the claim. Last year, Bungie accused AimJunkies of violating the DMCA's anti-circumvention provision, and this time, according to TorrentFreak, it was successful.

In the first battle against the cheat seller, the company received $4.3 million in damages and fees. In addition to violating the DMCA, AimJunkies was also found liable for trafficking in circumvention devices, or selling and shipping the cheats.

Interestingly, AimJunkies is also trying to sue Bungie, saying that "by decompiling and reverse-engineering its cheat software, Bungie violated AimJunkies’ terms of service and breached the terms of its contract." However, Bungie believes that the arbitration result counters its claims.

But this is not all: Bungie also demanded $6.7 million from LaviCheats, another site that sells cheats. In response, LaviCheats stopped selling Destiny 2 programs but suggested another website for its users.

Bungie accuses LaviCheats of the same injustice as AimJunkies and seeks a permanent injunction, preventing both companies from selling Bungie-related cheats in the future. As LaviCheats failed to show up in court, Destiny developer's chances to win are high.
