Call of Duty 4 Reportedly Takes Place in North & South Korea

TheGhostOfHope, a well-known Call of Duty insider and leaker, who just recently reported that the 2026 installment in the CoD franchise is being developed on next-gen Xbox dev kits, has shared some new findings about Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which, according to the insider, is being developed by Infinity Ward and is currently titled "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 사," using a Korean character for "4" instead of a familiar Arabic numeral.

In his latest report, TheGhostOfHope stated that the campaign of MW사 – not to be mistaken with BO7, set to launch in 2025 – can be expected to prominently feature both North and South Korea, hinting that the game's setting will likely take place somewhere on the Korean Peninsula.

The game's story, he claims, will "follow up on MWIII's ending with Shepherd being killed by Price/Soap being killed by Makarov," with the objective being to take down Makarov and the Konni Group, who are conducting false flag operations to spark World War III.

Additionally, TheGhostOfHope stated that Task Force 141, the SAS, and the Republic of Korea Army will be the three main factions you will be able to play as. Lastly, the insider shared some details about the arsenal that will be at players' disposal, mentioning that although MW사 will largely retain a modern setting, it will include some futuristic tech and weapons.
