CDPR To Share Phantom Liberty Info in June

The studio shared it will reveal some details on the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 expansion this June.

CD Projekt RED has announced that it will share more details on Phantom Liberty, the upcoming expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, this upcoming June.

Information about the DLC has been scarce since its initial announcement in September 2022, so it is anticipated to be a significant reveal, potentially including a gameplay video or a release date. Currently, Phantom Liberty is still scheduled for release in 2023.

The studio has not specified where it will be sharing news on Phantom Liberty this June, given that E3, an event that has traditionally been a platform for game announcements, has unfortunately been canceled for this year.

Instead, many events such as Xbox Games Showcase and Summer Game Fest are set to take place during that month. It is possible that CDPR could choose to present the expansion during either of these shows or host a separate event to provide players with a comprehensive overview of the expansion.

Earlier, CD Projekt RED confirmed that Phantom Liberty will have the largest budget for an expansion in the studio's history. The DLC will feature the character Johnny Silverhand, who will be played once again by Keanu Reeves. Additionally, Idris Elba will also be involved in the expansion.

Speaking of the celebrity cast, the studio recently revealed that in order to prevent players from always favoring Johnny Silverhand in quest decisions due to Keanu Reeves' immense "star power," it had intentionally made the character "a real asshole." CDPR has also hinted that a similar scenario may arise with Idris Elba's involvement in Phantom Liberty.
