Enjoy initial support for importing and rendering USD files, MaterialX shaders, and rendering Gaussian Splats.

Chaos released Vantage 3.0, a new version of its real-time ray tracing renderer, in open beta.
The release opens new possibilities for artists with initial support for importing and rendering static and animated USD format files. There is also MaterialX shaders support in addition to the ability to create and edit materials in Chaos Vantage.
Another exciting feature is Support for rendering Gaussian Splats from .vrscene files and Live Link.
"3D Gaussian Splatting is a method used to create a 3D scene from images or videos. It requires several pictures of an object, each taken from a different angle. With Gaussian Splatting, the images are blended to produce a detailed, three-dimensional representation of the object. Instead of depicting the scene as a collection of meshes, a Gaussian splat represents the scene as a type of point cloud, where each point is a 3D Gaussian."
Moreover, Chaos improved texturing workflows by adding support for the probability parameter in MultiSubTex, VRay2SidedTex, Maya Projection Texture, and Cinema 4D projection mappings, including screen and frontal types.
Other features include:
- Initial support for importing and rendering volume caches (.aur, .vdb) from Chaos Phoenix and VRayVolumeGrid.
- New “Create new Volume Grid” object available from the main toolbar. Note: Volume shading controls are currently limited inside Vantage.
- Added support for Object Clustering in Chaos Scatter. Note: Instance layer painting and instance color maps are not yet supported.
- Added support for camera tracking with the following protocols: LONET 2, EZtrackTCD, FreeD, stYpe HF.
- New Selection Mask View Mode: Selected objects render white while all others render black.
- Added camera object editing in the Details panel (Object tab). Note: Changes will not be visible in the viewport until the camera is re-selected from the Camera Lister.
- Render element names can now be remapped using the environment variable VRDX_REMAP_ELEMENT_NAMES with the following available convention: VRDX_REMAP_ELEMENT_NAMES=OldName:NewName and VRDX_REMAP_ELEMENT_NAMES="Old name:New name".
