Egor Poskriakov's WIP project allows you to enjoy five different types of gameplay and movement by switching abilities with the cartridges on the character's head.
Environment Concept artist, art director and solo developer Еgor Poskriakov has been working on a high-energy 3D platformer called Reytrieve Odyssey.
It's been inspired by classics in the genre, such as A Hat In Time, Super Mario Odyssey, Nier Replicant/Automata, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, as well as other anime.
In the game, players control a brave android girl named Rey, who can switch abilities using the cartridges on her head, enjoying five different types of gameplay and movement. The last moment, you are a 3D character, the next, you turn into a pixelated 2D version who can walk through rocks.
The game offers an expansive, vibrant world to explore at your own pace, and there will be whimsical locations where humorous characters and witty moments are waiting to be encountered. Yet along the journey, she seems to be followed by the lab's shadow. So, try your best to break free from its grip.
There is some more footage shared on X/Twitter to give us more chances to look at the game's animation, mechanics, environments and more:
Reytrieve Odyssey alpha is available on itch.io. While it is not currently available on Steam, the developer is actively working on it, and a Steam page should be created soon. To stay updated, be sure to follow the developer on social media.
