Check Out "Hell Rig", an Impressive 3D Book Rig Made WIth Maya

The rig lets the artist flip through the tome's pages.

3D Artist and aspiring CG Modeler Monawo has recently taken a break from digital characters, unveiling a mighty impressive book rig made for an ancient tome model one of the artist's WIP characters is meant to hold.

Described by the creator as "Hell Rig", the setup enables one to flip through the book's pages, turning what was supposed to be a simple prop into a masterpiece in and of itself. According to Monawo, the rig was created using Maya, Autodesk's 3D visual effects software for character creation, rigging, animation, and simulation and the artist's go-to application.

At the moment, it seems that much like the project itself, the book is still a work in progress. We highly encourage you to follow Monawo on Twitter so as not to miss any future updates.
