Jesse Miettinen showcased a new setup inspired by HotdogNugget's experiments.
Jesse Miettinen, a talented 3D Blender Artist who just recently wowed the community with a stunning Finland-inspired marchlands environment, continues pushing Blender to its limits with a brand-new experiment involving the software's Geometry Nodes toolset.
This time, the creator unveiled an appealing setup for simulating water ripples, based on Alex "HotdogNugget" Heskett's techniques for ripple creation but with additional fine-tuning and masking. The main benefit of this approach compared to Dynamic Paint, Jesse elaborated, is the speed at which baked attributes are read. "A lot of times scene just goes really junky with good old DP even with less resolution," he noted.
Previously, Tech Artist and the Co-Founder of Physical Addons Mārtiņš Upītis also employed HotdogNugget's techniques to create a beautiful water and water ripples simulation:

Earlier, Jesse also revealed an amazing short animation inspired by the Dune series, a brand-new cottage generator, a procedural hazmat tent simulation, a Geometry Nodes-powered bridge generator that can adapt to the landscape, a procedural water smudge mask generator, and more.
