If you love the atmosphere of rural Victorian England and can't help but fall for all these folk horror narrative-driven adventures, let me introduce to you The Excavation of Hob's Barrow.
Inspired by The Wicker Man and the works of M.R. James, as well as "a little pinch of Twin Peaks and Lovecraft", the game delves into the story of antiquarian Thomasina Bateman, who embarks on a research expedition to uncover the hidden treasures buried within the English barrows.

As Thomasina arrives in a small village to excavate the barrows, she keeps facing different obstacles.
"Upon her arrival, however, the mysterious man who summoned her is nowhere to be found. Her assistant never arrives. A stubborn landowner refuses access to the barrow, and the locals are wary of this woman who is traveling alone and (gasp!) wears trousers," reads the description on Steam.
