Check Out This Funny Cartoonish Mug Rig Made in Blender

Louis du Mont's project is still in progress, but it already looks awesome.

Digital artist and director Louis du Mont is in the middle of creating a cute mug rig, and while it's not ready yet, you need to see the intermediate results.

With a bit of Blender magic, du Mont animated the mug's funny facial expressions using lattices and constraints, giving it this cartoonish look.

We're not sure what the end result is supposed to be, but we know it will be great! The artist promised to release a breakdown with lessons learned once the project is finished, so stay tuned and enjoy du Mont's other works, like this setup for controlling a character's face in Blender with an Xbox gamepad, on X/Twitter.

If you want to learn how to do the same, check out his 6 hard-surface tricks to use in Blender.
