Check Out This Pixel Fantasy Action RPG with Unique Combat Mechanics

Emberville, an upcoming pixel-style action RPG developed by Cygnus Cross, has received a new gameplay trailer showcasing the characters and combat, and revealing a new voice actor.

The trailer highlights several of the game's features, offering a look at character customization, combat sequences, the inventory system, and the character stats screen, along with a new NPC. The voice actor joining the cast is Amelia Tyler, renowned for her role as the narrator in Baldur's Gate 3, Hecate in Hades II, Elena Nightingale in Warframe, and more.

Emberville is set in Vitromotus, a vast magical underground world, from which you and other denizens of a once-prosperous town strive to escape. Players need to navigate the underground maze, rescue characters, get to know the locals – each with their own unique stories and quests – and ultimately rebuild the town of Emberville, helping the villagers along the way.

Customization is a core feature of the RPG, from combat to building. The game is based on a two-button combat system and offers weapon-bound combos along with class-related skills. Players can unlock new combos for different weapons and chain different types of attacks. Combat skills can also be inherited between classes as the player levels up, allowing for further customization of the active combat style.

Apart from fast-paced combat, the game offers farming, gathering, and crafting, comprising some of the life-sim features. These skills can be used to grow crops, gather plants, wood, and minerals, and craft items.

The voice cast also features Alex Jordan, known for his work in The Alters, Cyberpunk 2077, and Dragon Age: The Veilguard; Doug Cockle, known for contributing to The Witcher and The Alters; and Abubakar Salim, who worked on Assassin’s Creed: Origins, and House of the Dragon.

Emberville is planned to be released in Early Access this summer.
