According to a new demo shared by Jason Key, the app is now in its pre-alpha stage.
Jason Key, a Principal VFX Artist and JangaFX Evangelist, has recently revealed an insightful behind-the-scenes demo, providing a much-anticipated update on LiquiGen, JangaFX's upcoming fluid simulation software.
Originally announced in 2020 as a companion to EmberGen, the team's other tool for creating fire and smoke simulations, LiquiGen is currently in its early development stage, with JangaFX periodically showcasing the tool's progress with impressive demos. The newly-released demo specifically provided a look at the real-time liquid simulation and path-tracing capabilities the pre-alpha version of LiquiGen has to offer.
While LiquiGen is still in development, it is already possible to leverage JangaFX's software for fluid simulations via EmberGen, a real-time volumetric fluid simulation tool that allows users to simulate, render, and export flipbooks, image sequences, and VDB volumes. Using the toolkit, you can create a range of effects, including fire, smoke, explosions, and even underwater FX, as was shown by Jason back in 2023:
Also in 2023, the company launched GeoGen, a brand-new generation tool for creating 3D landscapes, terrains, and planets in real-time. Available in Alpha, GeoGen offers a wide range of sourcing nodes, modifiers, filters, and masks that allow for precise control over terrain details, the placement of features, and the overall formation of the landscape.
