An interesting tool by GRUELSCUM.
Developers from GRUELSCUM showcased their spline-based terrain tool made in Unity that allows you to adjust the height along the splines. The editor offers a non-destructive workflow and supports terrain holes and texture painting.
The inspiration for this tool came from Advanced Terrain by Dreamteck Splines, "literally just splines projected onto heightmaps."
"We threw in group support, hierarchy-based layering, and some QOL stuff that goes hard. Also we switched to Unity's splines because Dreamteck is lowkey broken as hell."
The tool was made for the team's upcoming N64-inspired adventure game, where you explore a mysterious island. There's not much information about it yet, but you can follow GRUELSCUM on X/Twitter to keep an eye on the development and be the first to grab the terrain tool when it's shipped at the end of November.
