This Custom UE5 Tool Will Boost Your Terrain Workflow

PCG Geometry Decals is ready for launch.

Earlier this week, we highlighted PCG Geometry Decals for Unreal Engine 5, a procedural terrain detailing tool by Wouter Weynants that's gaining quite a bit of interest and is nearly ready for release.

With this tool, you can drop high-resolution meshes that automatically snap, displace, and blend with the landscape using just their shape, no need for landscape material editing or RVT. According to the developer, performance is solid thanks to its editor-based workflow, with decals baked into Nanite static meshes once finalized. Wouter is releasing PCG Geometry Decals as a Fab asset, which is currently awaiting approval. In the meantime, check out more demos and follow the developer on X/Twitter to stay updated on the release:

Thousand of these will be unique geometries. Even if it compress well they are not instances.
