Check Out This Surreal Game Where You Can Enter Pictures & Explore Them

You can step into dreamy streets, vibrant 80s arcades, and even theater posters.

Developer Tsunscreen showcased this entertaining demo, where a player can take a walk inside a picture shown on a computer screen and see how an entire world unfolds behind the flat screen.

The demo refers to Ephemeral Frame, an upcoming Godot-powered game, where you can enter not only a photo in a document on your computer but any picture – a photo in an album, for example. This surreal first-person exploration game lets you investigate atmospheric dreamscapes, captured on photographs or theater posters, leading you to nostalgic streets or 80s arcade halls.

Different frames have their own mechanics, and you need to gather useful items and equipment and solve puzzles offered by each place. You are already equipped with a camera, and you can take your own pictures to return to them at a moment's notice.

Ephemeral Frame is set to release in 2026. Meanwhile, you can wishlist it on Steam.
