Check Out This Vibrant Fantasy Platformer with Zelda-Style Exploration

Distant Blue's upcoming game Fading Skies draws inspiration from PS2- and GC-era action-adventure games.

Delve into a vibrant magical atmosphere with Fading Skies, an upcoming exploration platformer from Distant Blue, and check out the updates on the project that the developers have revealed.

The developers draw inspiration from PS2- and GC-era action-adventure games, creating a fresh take on the classics. Fading Skies is "like Jak and Daxter, except with Zelda-style exploration and a story vibe inspired by Kingdom Hearts," as the developer describes it. Players can look forward to responsive 3D platforming and combat, vibrant environments packed with secrets and collectibles, and an adorable shoulder dragon companion.

Fading Skies follows the story of Ryn, whose journey is to understand the catastrophic collapse of a planet. Along the way, she explores the remnants of a long-lost civilization, piecing together fragments of forgotten technology while also searching for clues about her own lost past. Set across a seamless open world where sci-fi and fantasy intertwine, Fading Skies takes players through diverse landscapes, from mystical meadows and serene forests to haunted mountains and thundering canyons.
