Check Out This Weight Painting Blender Tool Designed for "Lazy Rigging Artists"
Hamdi Amer makes weight painting more enjoyable.
Hamdi Amer released Weight Paint Box, a Blender add-on designed for "lazy rigging artists." It should make rigging and weight painting easier, faster, and more enjoyable, the creator says, with handy tools that allow you to put the desired areas in an adjustable deformation box.
Each face of the box has its own smooth circle, which works separately for precise results without overlap. You can adjust the strength and direction of the smooth effect inside or outside the box. Weight Paint Box lets you deal with multiple vertex groups at the same time and mirror them, use the box as a mask to hide geometry outside the box, view all vertex groups at once, and more.
In the same package, Amer also offers Draw Bone, a tool to quickly create custom armatures with built-in Rigify support. The features include:
- Draw custom bone rigs or use Rigify mode for basic human and MetaHuman without face.
- Choose any chain type: arms, legs, fingers, spine, tail, or free draw.
- One-click Smart Chain that intelligently places and connects bones.
- Built-in Rigify support, symmetry, and free sub-chain navigation.
- Placement tools to draw in the center or on the surface of your character.
- Alignment and point management tools.
- Clean and user-friendly UI.
